Job Listing Platform

Welcome to our Job Listing Platform! This platform serves as a comprehensive tool for both job seekers and recruiters to connect and find the right opportunities and talent, respectively.

Features

  • Recruiter Dashboard: Logged-in users are treated as recruiters and gain access to additional features:
    • Add Job: Recruiters can post new job listings to attract potential candidates.
    • Edit Job: Update job details, requirements, and other information as needed.
    • Delete Job: Remove job listings that are no longer active or relevant.
  • Job Details: Non-logged-in users can view detailed job listings, including job descriptions, requirements, and benefits.
  • Filter and Search: Under development, this feature will allow users to filter job listings based on various criteria and search for specific job titles or keywords.
  • Apply Filters: Both logged-in and non-logged-in users can apply filters to refine job searches based on skills etc.

Technologies Used

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js
  • Backend: Node.js, Express.js
  • Database: MongoDB
  • Authentication: JSON Web Tokens (JWT)
  • Other Libraries: Axios, React Router, Mongoose

Getting Started

To run the project locally, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/your-username/job-listing-platform.git
  2. Navigate to the project directory: cd job-listing-platform
  3. Install dependencies: npm install
  4. Set up environment variables:
    • Create a .env file in the root directory.
    • Add the necessary environment variables such as database connection strings, API keys, etc.
  5. Start the development server: npm start
  6. Open your browser and visit http://localhost:3000 to view the application.
