See: https://help.github.com/en/articles/creating-a-default-community-health-file-for-your-organization
Following this standard practise allows new repositories to include default readme, code of conduct, contributing guidelines and support files.

  • create .github repo
  • create default CODE_OF_CONDUCT by copying text from the hackathon one
  • delete hackathon COC
  • replace any links to the hackathon COC with new one (if necessary)
  • create default SUPPORT file (draft in-place - what else should it say?)
  • create default CONTRIBUTING file (what should it say?)

View and update all these files here
