It seems like it was just yesterday we were in Cancun. However, HUPO 2023 in Busan is now only a couple of months away. Do we plan to organize anything informal there? As I understand it, the HUPO office would like to know before July 31 if we want a room.

I will be there.
I believe Eric has the organisation in hand, which I assume includes room booking.

The last conversation with Grit was a couple months old, so thanks for the reminder, I have reached out to Grit again to work out the venue details. I set up the template page here now:

I'll send out an email, too, but if you have suggestions for sessions that you'd like to see or organize, please suggest them here.

We will be three traveling to Busan and most happy to participate in the organization. I am very much looking forward to seeing you all again :-D
As a session we can propose something around accounting for genetic sequence variation in proteomics.

I think a session around genetic sequence variation in proteomics would be great, and very timely. We have not covered that in depth recently, and it ties in nicely with an upcoming BioHackathon Europe project on generating synthetic genomes to benchmark variant callers (https://github.com/elixir-europe/biohackathon-projects-2023/tree/main/2). How does one go from genomes (synthetic or not) to a PEFF file, for example?

Another possible new topic would be expanding the community around machine learning and AI in proteomics (also looking at teaching resources on TeSS and tutorials such as ProteomicsML.org).

This is great! I have updated the program:

Who wants to contribute to the ML and AI session? So far I just have Magnus. We should have at least two co-leads per session.

Other session ideas welcome!

I could contribute a talk on various ways UniProt is supporting/using ML/AI

excellent, thanks, I have added you to the program for ML. If we get lots of volunteers for that, we'll adjust things later.
