Digi App not carrying tax. name forward

When entering only a genus name into the digi app (Hieracium, no author), the name only gets saved to the first record. The genus name is still shown in the Tax. Name field, but does not get applied to the next records. When using the "Go back" button, the name dissappears.
When trying to correct the record by typing in the name and pressing "Save" the name still doesn't stick.
I had to choose the name for each record, in order for the record to save correctly.
Oddly enough "Hieracium L." doesn't seem to be problematic.
@nms419 would you please see if you can provide any additional information for the bug report below?

Describe the bug
Digi app does not save taxonimic name to the record for "Hieracium".

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Log into "NHMD Vascular Plants"
2. Type "Hieracium" into the Taxonomic name Field
3. There are two options: Hieracium L. and Hieracium. Select the latter with no author name.
4. Save the record by scanning a barcode.
5. The record will be saved with no Taxonomic name.

Expected behavior
The record to be saved with all information typed into the fields.
