Hi all, I am creating a new webpage for McDonald Mt. Locke telescopes. The timeline for this new page is somehow unknown, since parts of it need to be approved by a committee. I will welcome anyone that would like a do a pre-read and give me feedback on the page. I will also welcome ideas and links to software anyone is using for their science. I could link all of it there. Maybe you have a more specific page in mind, but I am trying to integrate everything on a go-to page. |

There does not appear to be an easily discoverable website for software resources at McDonald. HET does have some of this built into its instrument pages, such as HPF. There's Observer Tools, and individual Research Facility pages but most of those don't link to the available codes. In those cases where the pages link to codes (IGRINS) they only link to the pipeline, but not community-provided codes.
Proposal:
Make a landing page titled "Facility and Community Software". This website could have headings for each instrument and then links to the pipeline code, disclaimers/status report (if any) and links for community-provided codes (when available).
If we end up having a presentation (#3) we could link to those slides somewhere on this page.
Knowing about all the conceivable community codes is not feasible for one person. So I recommend we crowd-source this effort: ask folks what they use. Ideally have them add it through pull request...
