Game not saving correctly

I have lost large swaths of progress multiple times because the game refuses to save correctly unless exported and imported. Clicking on "Save the game manually." shows the game was saved, but ultimately does nothing. I am currently playing on github.io.

I get a similar effect whenever I start up the computer and it appears to me that the issue is not with the save missing, but that the game sometimes decides to import the most recently imported file rather than loading the local save.

It may have something to do with whether or not you've ascended. I'm not sure of LosNillos' progress, but it seems like, after I completed my first ascension, I no longer have been running into this issue.
