If a user has a file that they open on more than one device, the client-side editor incorrectly ignores edits from the second device and assumes it to be unnecessary ("no need to apply what you have created yourself"). While this is true if we were to restrict usage to a single device, the backend has no such restrictions and as such the frontend should conform to this paradigm as well.
