Is there a way to increase preview retention time?

If I'm not mistaken, "preview" is the 1 frame every 30 sec captured when no motion/detection on a camera right?
I found that i can increase the quality in the configuration by:

  preview:
    quality: medium

I was wondering if there is an option to keep those frames for a certain period back in time, say 24 or 48h?

Should I increase expire_interval: 120?

No, expire_interval is not what you want to use in this case.

Previews are retained according to the same schedule as your recording config, so I would just increase your retain days to 2, eg:

record:
  enabled: true
  retain:
    days: 2
  ...
