I am waiting for new features for literally years now.

Still no inotify support, no configurable indexing, no thumbnail and icon, no integration with file managers (or kind of)...

Why ?

Like many other open source projects, it depends on the maintainers' free time and their interests to continue on this project. If you can, please try contribute code or sponsor the maintainer.

Hi @HanM23,

like @cjc7373 said, it's really coming down to me finding enough free time and interest. I can understand that it's frustrating to wait for new features for that long, I find it annoying as well, but the feature I'm currently working on (filesystem monitoring) is also by far the most difficult and complex thing I have done so far. So there's a lot of time spent on debugging, optimizing and experimenting.

I am glad to read from you again. For a while I thought you weren't working on the project anymore because we're so spoilt by your quick responses and replies on Github. I am really relieved that you are continuing to work on this great project. And I'm extremely pleased that you're working on filesystem monitoring.

And what I've really appreciated about this project so far is that not only new features have been added, but that you've also been working on fixing bugs. My opinion: It's better to fix the bugs first before adding new luxury features. (But I don't want to call the ‘filesystem monitoring’ project a luxury.)
Just take the time you need.

I love this project.

@cboxdoerfer Thank you for this great application. It's been my main desktop search for years now and it just works flawlessly. Highly appreciated!
