Is it safe to install the latest version (333) in AlmaLinux 8? Or should I stick with 310 ? #21644

Hi, The reason I ask is just because I wonder if there's a reason cockpit hasn't updated since 310, on AlmaLinux 8, RHEL 8, and CentOS 8. https://repology.org/project/cockpit/versions Has cockpit dropped support for those? Many thanks. |

It's not safe. We stopped testing cockpit main on RHEL 8 long ago, and I'm almost sure it won't work. But you can use the Flatpak, ws container or any installation from RHEL 9.6/10.0/CentOS Stream 8 or 9/Debian testing/Arch to connect to a RHEL 8 machine (without installed Cockpit). That is officially supported, see https://cockpit-project.org/blog/cockpit-332.html |
