QTI defines very specific behaviour for certain corner cases in certain mathOperators.
For example, asin(2) is NULL in QTI, but would be NaN in standard double precision arithmetic.
JQTI+ tends to rely on Java's implementation of these corner cases, which is therefore not producing the correct results.
All of the mathOperators need to be checked against the spec for these corner cases.
