Currently I run Dayahead optimization at 14:00 (when I know the current spot electricity prices for the next day) and then MPC every 30 minutes. I'm having a bit of a problem picking the optimal target SOC of the battery. I'd like to provide a charge for possible sales in the morning peak. But the afternoon battery capacity may not be sufficient.
I tried to run the Daily Optimization at 10pm, but there again the problem is the indeterminacy of the target SOC, where the system doesn't know whether to sell in the evening peak and charge at night, or leave the power until the morning.
How do you view the possibility of running Dayahead optimization twice a day at say 2pm and 10pm? In between, of course, MPC would also run until about the end of the 24 hour window.
