@dreamer I have SteamOS (and the Steam Deck!), I can test it for you if you want! I recommend the first one! On the Steam Deck, Steam controls if you are either using Wayland (Called Gamescope) or x11! |
@ThomasEricB I also own Steam Deck now, but after new instructions/installer/flatpak/whatever will be finished then some testing will be very much appreciated :) |
You know where to find me at! Just tag me on discord if I don't reply as quickly. |
I hope there is still interest in tweaking the Boxtron flatpak to work with SteamOS. I think Boxtron is really great and has the opportunity to make my DOS games fly and perform the way the original programmers had hoped. I'm going to stay tuned and hopefully I can help test with my Deck |
Were specific instructions for installing on Steam Deck ever finished? I just saw reviews drop for the Tomb Raider remasters and wondered if I could get the classic versions I already own to run on Deck. |
That's because SteamOS has steam installed natively (not via flatpak), and Boxtron flatpak package works only with Steam installed via flatpak.
I think two fixes are needed:
(1) is fairly trivial, (2) is not. I will start with (1).
