The usb mode offers the lowest latency and spikes out of other method available, but the switch won't charge because of the low power output most usb port has and this makes gaming time reduced and probably shortened lifespan of the battery. While I do have a laptop that support pd output from one of the port, this feature is unfortunately not present on my pi sbc (if i try it; it would just soft bricked itself until i re-plug the power supply).
For context, the usb mode does not work when plugged through usb hub
Describe the solution you'd like
A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.
Is there a way to make usb mode possible through usb hub so that we can charge the switch using official charger while simultaneously stream with usb mode?
Describe alternatives you've considered
A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.
Using a laptop or any device that has pd output from the usb port (which is rare in my case) or charge the switch using official charger and stream it using network mode

The hub is connected to the switch and iirc it is called the root host? Anyway this would be a great qol feature to be added and would make usb controller support available alongside it

You'd be looking for a powered usb hub, however i'm not aware of any capable of negotiating power delivery to charge at full speed. This is likely not possible with current hardware.
One option to do wired streaming would be using a lan adapter in docked mode or with a usb dock meant for smartphones, like this: .
You'd need to check for a compatible one though, iirc only some chipsets are supported.
As for controller support that's outisde the scope of sysdvr, you can look into sysbotbase.

What do you mean by powered usb hub? If its a hub that has a port for power input(from official charger) and output it to usb host(the switch) through the hub, i have one that can do that. The problem comes when connecting a cable from the usb hub(connected to the switch) to a pc, it simply wont detect that there's a switch device hence why I'm unable to use usb mode with it( I can't use ums or mtp too)
