Thanks for the suggestion! As I don't have any physical device myself, I looked briefly at how to debug a virtual device with genymotion and remote debugging.
Unfortunately I didn't succeed at getting any output from SkipCertError.
I'll try again when I get a chance, but unless I get help, or there is sufficient demands, I don't plan to port SkipCertError to mobile in the short term. Sorry.

Looking at MDN, it looks like converting a XUL extension for desktop like SkipCertError to an Android extension would require quite some work:

  • conversion to a bootstrapped addon
  • Firefox for Android provides different objects like BrowserApp, and I'm not sure TabsProgressListener is available
  • the UI is different, regarding notifications and preferences especially
