While working on a superficial help section for the website I needed to break things down to the most basic elements you need to control in TOL. To me those are:
Health Impulse Energy
I know I'm a genius.
The thing I'm after is a way to display them in the three most important places:
HUD GUI In Game
The most obvious thing to do here is to color code health with the teamcolor, use white for energy and magenta for impulse.

That seems like an good idea, now we only need an intuitive way to show disc-locks and that damage dealt to the opponent recharges your health (AFAIK) and most things should be much more obvious.
