Spotify refuses to play in background

What happened?

I have been using the latest (google play) version of grayjay on my unmodded Android14 OnePlus 9 Pro and have noticed that when i try to play a song off spotify and put my phone to sleep or close the app (still running in bgr) the song automatically stops playing after 20-30 seconds

Update: you CAN background play songs propely from the spotify source.

On a track: click the three dots, press overlay.
Yes you have to endure with a big *** PIP covering your screen now but the song keeps playing on turning off of your display
