Issues labeled "jump in" are selected not just as low-hanging fruit, but that we are willing to mentor newcomers interested in contributing by taking on this issue. This promotes and encourages first time contributions.

As an existing contributor, if you have a fairly straightforward issue or todo, consider adding the "jump in" label and mention you are willing to mentor anybody that wants to take it on. Mentoring involves clarifying the issue, helping the newcomer get setup, and point them in the right direction to solving the problem. If it leads to a PR, reviewing the PR would also be nice.
