Overview

We need to obtain the geojson boundaries for areas outside the City of Los Angeles (e.g. Beverly Hills, Pasadena) so that we can clarify to users that they cannot obtain Service Requests for these regions.

Action Items

  • Populate spreadsheet in the shared drive with URLs to download boundary data:
    • Incorporated Cities:
      • West Hollywood
      • Beverly Hills
      • Culver City
      • Santa Monica
      • Universal City
      • San Fernando
      • Inglewood
    • Unincorporated
      • Marina Del Ray
      • Unincorporated LA Southwest of Culver City (this includes View Park-Windsor Hills, Ladera Heights, and oil fields)
      • Federal Land (VA Campus)
      • Franklin Canyon (weird square above Beverly Hills)

There is an issue with the santa monica boundary going into the ocean.

overpass-turbo.eu and openstreetmaps.org has the same boundaries for santa monica i'm assuming will not be ok for use on the 311-data website.
