hi,

I'm generating a Voronoi with this awesome tool and it works great.
But in my case it always generates the voronoi below/beside my selected area.

The problem: I'm creating the voronoi with many pieces and fusion is not able to move them afterwords.

Any idea how to fix this?

Hi @TobiasKoller -

Yes, the positioning issue is known. Problem with Fusion itself that I hope to find a workaround. See the README issues section for a possible way to move the Voronoi: Todo-and-issues

There's also a nice YouTube tutorial which includes a work-around: https://youtu.be/lyxCvDjOiWs?si=D2j_EWLHnuCNfvqA&t=464

I've tried the tips from the video but it didnt work. In my example I took the max. size (500 elements) and they just wont move..event the point-to-point-moving didnt work.

it looks like the generated voronoi is mirrored on both axis.
Wouldnt it be possible to simply recalculate the offsets and place it to the correct positions?

@TobiasKoller - Not sure why the elements won't move. It's possible there are constraints that are blocking the move. I'll do some testing to see if I can spot the issue.

The offset issue is a problem internal to Fusion. If I have a chance, I see if another workaround or fix is possible.

Apologize that there are the issues.

@hanskellner I also made some testing.
When I simply create a Sketch it works

when I add a simple square and want to add the voronoi to it it works but the original square moves up.

when I add some more lines to the sketch it places the voronoi on the side.

@TobiasKoller - I've just updated the add-in and hopefully fixed some of the incorrect insertion location issues. Please grab the add-in files and overlay over your existing installation.

Note, there's still an issue of Fusion adding Fixed constraints to straight line cells. See the README for how to workaround that.

@hanskellner would it be considerable, since addin button is only in the non sketch environment visible, to add a seperate sketch where the selected profile would be imported as projected curves and then insert the generated svg in this sketch?
My current workflow is to do this, mainly to have a easyer work with selection for future features e.g. Extrusion
Then selecting the "use profile" button on the pop up is relyable inserting the svg just where it should be (okay calculation time could be better waiting a wile for fusion after "publish to fusion" but that could also be just my computer) and not beside the profile where it should not be
