Since we deploy our projects to many different servers, we would like to make prestissimo a dependency of our projects. This would make it a lot easier to make sure the server is provided with the package. Would that be even possible? Is global installation of the project a requirement?

Try it? From my own exploration, it does seem to work. Just be careful when testing: if you clear the vendor folder, don't also clear the hirak/prestissimo folder otherwise you'll revert to default behaviour.
