As a pilot I want the software to tell me whether I'm flying the correct speed between thermals.
There are at least two different ways to measure this:
Calculate % time spent circling. This number should be inversely proportional to the climb rates. If it's not, the inter-thermal speed is off.
Calculate wind speed by using nearby circling portions of the flight - fit an oval on each full turn and calculate drift caused by the wind. Then use altitude to calculate true airspeed, then use that to calculate IAS. Compare this to average BTT climb rates & therefore McCready value
