Can't update user fields: placeholder error

Hi,
I'm trying simply to update user fields.

namespace App\Controllers\Admin;

use App\Controllers\BaseController;
use CodeIgniter\HTTP\ResponseInterface;
use Myth\Auth\Models\UserModel;

class Users extends BaseController
{

    public function index()
    {
		$users = new UserModel();
		
		$data = [
			'id' => "1",
			'username' => 'myNewUsername',
			'email' => "mybrandnewemail@mydomainl.com",
		];
		
		$users->save($data);
   }
}

And then get the error:
LogicException
No validation rules for the placeholder: id
