While it isn’t always a concern, it can become an issue when two projects share the same name, as they start to overlap and create confusion. If your project’s name coincides with a well-known existing one, users may struggle to differentiate between them. This can lead to misattributed issues, incorrect dependencies, documentation conflicts, and branding confusion. Additionally, you’ll want to avoid potential trademark conflicts, which could create legal complications. That said, if the projects serve completely different purposes and audiences, the impact may be minimal. However, it's generally best to choose a unique name to prevent confusion and ensure clarity in the long run. |

I propose we change the name after myself Fenriris—because if we're going to cause name conflicts, we might as well go all in |

Yes, very much as confusion (“is this lynx-compatible?”)
will ensue.
lynx is also used heavily by blind users, so this is going
to be even worse fun for those supporting them on mailing
lists, or for inquiries to companies regarding lynx support.

Might as well add Flutter to that somehow. It's gonna be a long name. :) [Sarcasm] |

Not having a stake in the new name, but using a competitor’s
name part as part of your own name tends to not end well.

Agreed, just look at what happened years ago with kik, left-pad, and npm |

I highly agree on that, this would cause so much confusion and pretty much would kill the uniqueness of Lynx ngl if the intentions are directed into a long term project |

blackfoot… 😊 (from “black-footed cat”) According to wikipedia it is “the smallest wild car in Africa”, but a great hunter (60% kills). Edit: |

There’s only one
lynx
on the web, and it’s the browser!#lynx is the standard text browser.
