Select a value programatically

Hello,

Thank you for the component, it works well.

I have a question, is it possible to select a value from the code ? My goal would be to set a default value on load to select a specific value in the searchbox. I need the user to see that a value is selected, if I use the default option, there is not value selected in the component.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. This isn't really possible atm, only via setting the placeholder..

I'll add a new option to set the default_searchterm in the latest version 0.1.20. See #83 Together with the default_option you mentioned this should cover the usecase you described.

I've dig a bit dipper into streamlit so now I understand it better and I see why you don't have that.
