Hey @MubarakNative thanks for sharing the word about MapLibre on your blog. Right now we share news about MapLibre on our website. I don't have any plans to start writing articles for any other website such as Medium, but you are more than welcome to. If you would like an article you wrote boosted on MapLibre social media or added to the newsletter that should always be possible especially if it is not commercial. |

That blog was just a high-level introduction to OSM for end users. It mainly focused on offline integration, where I showcased Mapsforge as an example. So there is a very little info about MapLibre, but i am also learning intergrating offline map in MapLibre using OfflineManager I will definitely be creating a more detailed blog about MapLibre, covering everything from integration to a working sample. My goal is to provide developers with a comprehensive guide to using MapLibre effectively.
Thanks for your response! I fully understand that there are no plans for an official Medium publication. I know it is hard to manage things right, with a growing community.
Also, just to clarify—I never commercialize any of my articles. My content is purely focused on open-source knowledge-sharing to help developers explore great tools like MapLibre. I really appreciate the offer to boost my blog via social media or the newsletter, and I will definitely reach out once I publish something valuable! 🚀 Thanks again for the support! 😊 |

Hi MapLibre community! 👋
I had this idea and wanted to share it—what if we had a Medium publication (official or community-driven) dedicated to MapLibre tutorials, best practices, and real-world use cases?
Why a Medium Publication?
While the GitHub repo and Android docs are great for reference, a dedicated blog could:
✅ Reach more developers outside GitHub.
✅ Provide structured tutorials, case studies, and deep dives into MapLibre’s features.
✅ Attract Android/iOS/web devs looking for open-source mapping alternatives.
✅ Be a hub for community contributions—anyone can submit articles!
Content Ideas
We could cover things like:
My Contribution
I’ve been actively writing about Android and open-source tools on Medium and would love to regularly contribute to this publication, just like I do on my own blog.
Next Steps
What do you all think?
Should this be an official MapLibre publication or a community-driven blog?
Would anyone from the core team be interested in contributing/reviewing content?
Should we go with Medium, or is there another platform you'd prefer (Dev.to, Hashnode, etc.)?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! 🚀
