imho opinion it would be helpful to provide some guidance on the general concept of making data available in the PMD concept by answering (amongst others) the following questions for which I also tried to provide some first drafts for possible answers:

What is the suggested format of the data to be shared?

searchable data

  • A-box based on the PMDco and an application specific Application ontology (e.g. tensile test)

raw data

  • accessible endpoint wth a URL stored in the ontology

Where should the data be uploaded

searchable data

  • ontodocker

raw data

  • e.g. mongo db

What data should be concatenated in a single dataset (SPARQL endpoint)

When should I upload data?

  • everytime a perform an experiment/single data series
  • once a study has been concluded
  • ...

I would just like to give a brief update on this. In my view, a “Data Handling Code of Conduct” is certainly still a valid point for discussion. However, I think that this should continue to be discussed in a broad forum so that, ideally, a community consensus can be reached.

In our demonstrators and the prototype solutions that we provide (especially, in the MaterialDigital GitHub area), we have opted for a data handling variant, respectively. To a certain extent, this serves as a model. However, it is not the only possible solution and certainly does not claim to be mandatory.

As a result, reference can currently only be made to the relevant guidelines and procedures (to be found here, for example).
