I'd like the ability to have the Excel Labs interface pop-out into a separate movable window (controllable with Windows shortcuts) to be displayed on a secondary monitor. Is this something that can be added?

You can manually drag the task pane outside of the main Excel window. I usually resize it to the full size of my portrait secondary monitor. However, a there are a few usability shortcomings:
You have to drag the Window very slowly. If the mouse "outruns" the Window, it ceases the drag operation. (This seems like an issue from before Windows 3.1!! Incredible that something like this can still happen)
The position is not remembered. If you close the task pane and reopen it, it will do so inside the main Excel window. Combine this with nr. 1 above, and it becomes annoying.
You cannot use the Win+arrows shortcuts to position the task pane.
I agree that the windowing could be much improved, but it is probably outside the possibilities of the AFE team. That's likely an Office-level fix.
