"Run Python" Icon Does Nothing

This was working recently and now it isn't

• Selecting the icon produces no errors or any output
• Right clicking in a python file and choosing "Run Python File in Terminal" also does nothing
• "Run Current File In Interactive Window" correctly opens a window and stats the default Python Interpreter

If I open a powershell (or command prompt) terminal Python executable runs

Do you have a Python environment selected in the extension (check the status bar to find out)? If you don't then that would explain what's going on.

I did unistall and reinstall it twice, restarting VSC in-between. I'll have to try again and check the extensions folder as I didn't do that but I don't see Open Extenions Folder when I right click or check settings

Open Extensions Folder is a command in the command palette.

Thanks. Looking at it now I only see the current version installed:

unless those first 2 folders are suspect. If there was a corrupt install I would expect to see something leftover even now but I only see file dates of 1/7/22 3:20pm on everything in that folder

Yep, that all looks right. So if updating to the latest version still causes you issues then please open a bug.

I met the same situation, when I try to run a python script with clicking the run button, nothing happened. But I found that flask app can run correctly, and after I use "Ctrl+C" to exit the Terminate batch job and click the run button, my python script can run correctly.
