Type: Bug

Behaviour

Expected vs. Actual

I was expecting to see my workspace Python 3.11 venv as recommended instead of my global Python 3.12 environment

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a project that has a virtual environment set up for it using an older version of Python than Python 3.12
  2. Run the Select Interpreter command

Diagnostic data

  • Python version (& distribution if applicable, e.g. Anaconda): 3.12.0
  • Type of virtual environment used (e.g. conda, venv, virtualenv, etc.): Global
  • Value of the python.languageServer setting: Pylance
Output for Python in the Output panel (ViewOutput, change the drop-down the upper-right of the Output panel to Python)

oh nvm it might have been a perf issue. Once I waited a bit and retriggered the command it showed up as recommended:
