Hi @drbeane! Thanks for your feedback, and you're in luck: we just shipped a big change that allows exactly this decoupled behaviour. Have a look at #869 to learn more. Specifically, you can now set a primary colour and then define a tint colour to colour the entire interface with. If you set the tint colour to a very light colour (or anything you'd like), code blocks should colour along. Let me know if this works for you, or if it doesn't solve your question 😊 |

I would greatly appreciate having more options for color and theme customization.
From my point of view, the most important piece of this would be decoupling the background color for code block from the primary color. I would like to have a fairly light color for code block backgrounds, so as not to conflict with the syntax highlighting. But the colors that look good to me for code blocks are too light for the other elements that are controlled by the primary color (such as links, current page, etc.).
I think it would certainly be reasonable to include this as a premium feature. I am not yet a premium subscriber, but the addition of this feature would definitely compel me to make the switch.
I apologize if this request has been made before. I did to a search, and couldn't find this exact request.
