More options for color/theme customization

I would greatly appreciate having more options for color and theme customization.

From my point of view, the most important piece of this would be decoupling the background color for code block from the primary color. I would like to have a fairly light color for code block backgrounds, so as not to conflict with the syntax highlighting. But the colors that look good to me for code blocks are too light for the other elements that are controlled by the primary color (such as links, current page, etc.).

I think it would certainly be reasonable to include this as a premium feature. I am not yet a premium subscriber, but the addition of this feature would definitely compel me to make the switch.

I apologize if this request has been made before. I did to a search, and couldn't find this exact request.

Hi @drbeane! Thanks for your feedback, and you're in luck: we just shipped a big change that allows exactly this decoupled behaviour. Have a look at #869 to learn more.

Specifically, you can now set a primary colour and then define a tint colour to colour the entire interface with. If you set the tint colour to a very light colour (or anything you'd like), code blocks should colour along.

Oh, that's great! Thank you. I had noticed the tint option, but had discounted it because it affected the entire site, not just code blocks. I had not yet realized that you could set the tint light enough that it was almost imperceptible on most of the site, but still have a nice result for the code blocks. Thank you very much!
