So, after putting my S-132 together and making sure it was working, the next step was to drill and tap the hole in the back plexy of the IMSAI. I marked out where the hole needed to be, drilled it nice and cleanly. Ran my M4 tap through it and made perfect threads... but it was in the wrong freaking place lol.
Only choice after that is to just make the hole bigger and use the nut. Problems with that include concern about the board and plexy flexing enough to short something out on the IMSAI board, how to get the nut in place to be able to screw it in and finding where the nut falls when you unscrew the bolt to remove the S-132 board for whatever reason. Also, there didn't seem to be a spacer provided for between the S-132 board and the plexy, even if I had managed to drill the hole in the right place.
Having a 3d printer and a desire to not have to worry about all those problems I set out to create a bracket that would hold the nut in place, and providing a spacer to keep it from being able to touch the IMSAI board. I also created various sized spacers for the space between the S-132 board and the plexy.
Spacer installed between S-132 board and plexy:
Bracket installed (Note that it replace two of the spacers provided in the kit):
I think this could also be used as a template to get the initial hole in the right place, for just using a tapped hole.
