Sound jitters and cuts out when performing tasks in Windows.

The sound jitters badly when performing actions in Windows 10, even when just playing one channel, e.g. music. Performing any simple task such as minimizing any window, clicking a link in a browser, or typing means the sound jitters. The sound cuts out and in again proportional to the intensity of a task. There are no other sounds playing and no sounds are set to play in Windows.

Restarting or adjusting volumes has no effect. DF runs fine. The problem persists even when DF is paused.
