Fix local failing tests

What maintenance needs to be done?

A new macbook with MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1, which has followed the installation instructions for this application, has four failing tests.

Why is this maintenance needed?

Tests that don't pass locally are a red flag that we're missing something about our setup process. If we don't fix them, we'll come to rely on only our CI server for tests, and that will start us down a bad path of letting our test suite deteriorate.

• All tests pass locally for a newly installed application
