Just a small note about something that managed to confuse me a bit. In the CtkAudio help file (and others containing the same example) there is a mention about whether or not to call .bus in the comments of the example. It took me a while to realise that .bus is only needed when you need the bus index for input/output ugens, even though it doesn't explicitly say so, I somehow read it as .bus being needed for all control busses (because it says a CtkAudio! No need to call .bus in one line - as if it's otherwise needed to call .bus).
Just writing it here because I may not be the only one confused by this :)
