Retriving tag version?

FugitiveHead is awesome to integrate in our statusline but this provides only branch name.

Is there any other function that provides the tag version? I can't find it in the docs.

Update: Perhaps this might do the trick:

local myTag = io.popen('git describe --tags --abbrev=0 2> /dev/null'):read()

Calling it with FugitiveExecute() will use the correct repository:

local myTag = vim.fn.FugitiveExecute({'describe', '--tags', '--abbrev=0'}).stdout[1]

FugitiveExecute is really nice.

One thing I noticed tho, even tho docs says it runs on active buffer (by default) it seems this function runs only when the buffer is loaded.

ie:

1. I open a file and the proper tag version is collected and displayed in the statusline
2. In the same Nvim process I open another file (in another repo), it'll still show the same TAG information from previous file.

So my question is: if I switch buffers, is it possible to re-run this function to check/collect the TAG for the newly opened buffer?

EDIT: maybe the issue is the way I'm calling this func from my lualine.

EDIT: ok got this working, had to create an AU on BufWinEnter. Running tests now but seems to be working fine.

Yes, the function runs when you call it, it's as simple as that.
