UFS-utils has fre-nctools that is a snapshot (or subset) of the fre-nctools from the GFDL repository (https://github.com/NOAA-GFDL/FRE-NCtools) that was provided to EMC when the FV3 code was delivered. Since this tool set is being regularly updated at GFDL as FV3 and MOM6 get updated, does it make sense for UFS-utils to connect to this repository?
