Impact of New Google Maps Styling Changes on react-google-maps Library Users

Hi everyone,

I recently received an update from Google Maps Platform announcing upcoming changes to the default map colors and styling, which will be fully rolled out by March 18, 2025. These changes include a new color palette, improved road visibility, updated POI markers, and other enhancements to map usability. The update allows for early previews and opt-ins, as well as customization via map IDs.

My question is:
Are there any plans for the react-google-maps library to account for these new styling changes from Google Maps?

Specifically, how will the upcoming updates to the default map colors and styles impact users of the library?
Will there be any breaking changes or necessary modifications for developers who rely on custom map styling or the current default basemap?
I’d appreciate any guidance or insight on how to handle these changes. Or maybe those changes has already been addressed...

Exploring the documentation and GCP (and following the steps described in https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/cloud-customization/map-styles-leg#create-style and in https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/get-map-id#cbms-example) we identified the need to:

1. Create a map style
2. Link a map style with a map ID
3. Update the environment variables for the project

The library already supports this change.
