LaTeX formulas don't display correctly in the Coder theme

I am using a hugo theme called Coder

I figured out a fix, I needed to enable KaTeX in my theme by adding a katex: true setting.
However, it would still be nice to mention in nb2hugo documentation that katex is assumed.
