What I'm trying to achieve is a streamlined research workflow where:
I want a centralized collection of my notes
I open source material in Zotero
As I highlight important text, I want these highlights collected in a single "parent note"
This gives me one centralized place to review all my highlights from a source
I need my notes to grow over time
When I revisit the source later and make additional highlights
I want these new highlights added to my existing note
This builds a comprehensive collection of all important points from my sources
I need this to be simple and quick
The process should require minimal manual steps
Ideally with a simple trigger (like closing the document or a menu command)
Without having to manually copy-paste or recreate notes each time
This workflow is valuable to me because it:
Keeps all my highlights from a single source together in one place
Allows me to build my notes over multiple reading sessions
Creates a comprehensive research document I can reference later
Reduces the time I spend on manual note organization
I tried all major AI models, but none of them produced anything that is useful. I have spent like 5 hours on this and yet no solution. Can you please help me?
