This repository contains the components and documentation of the Android Version of InApp Rating and Review journey
.
This journey lets you trigger dialog to add rating & review on the App's Google PlayStore account.
In-app reviews only work on the following devices:
Android devices (phones and tablets) running Android 5.0 (API level 21) or higher that have the Google Play Store installed.
Follow these guidelines to help you decide when to request in-app reviews from users:
Trigger the in-app review flow after a user has experienced enough of your app to provide useful feedback. To provide a great user experience, Google Play enforces a time-bound quota on how often a user can be shown the review dialog. Because of this quota, invoking the dialog more than once during a short period of time (for example, less than a month) might not always display a dialog.
In your app's build.gradle file:
dependencies {
implementation("com.google.android.play:review:2.0.2")
...
}
Context.launchInAppReview{ isSuccessful -> }
Test in-app reviews with guidelines from Google developer docs
The trigger logic is app specific and is not handled by the journey.
Boolean isSuccessful
on invoking launchInAppReview{ isSuccessful -> }
gives status if the process has finished. The API does not indicate whether the user
reviewed or not, or even whether the review dialog was shown. Thus, no matter the result, we continue our app flow.
