# Homework 4: L-systems

## Demo (Used Houdini)

For this project, I was trying to use Houdini Lsystem to create the whomping willow from Harry Potter.

## Tree

I used two lsystem to create the two main trunks seperatly and merged them together.


### Noise

I used Attribute Wrangle to run over points to add some sin noise to create the details of the trunk, and scale down the noise according to the points' y value. So the top of the trunk looks thiner than the bottom.

To animate the tree, I first add a sin($F) to the lsystem's Random Scale value, to create the random movement of the willow. I then use the bend node to twist the tree. To make the tree only twists during the certain time, I edit the twist value of the node to make sure the tree will twist from the start position and end at the start position as well.

For the falling leaf, I used scatter point node to scatter point from the tree leaf group. And use Attribute Wrangle to change the position of the leaf accroding to @Time.
