This release brings the ability to install from tarballs and gzipped files. font-install can now handle the following types of files:

  • single-font.gz
  • fonts.tar
  • fonts.tar.gz
  • fonts.tgz

Version 1.4.0 comes with more linting! Well, the code was linted. There was some lint. I made the lint.

ALSO...font-install will now prefer OpenType fonts over TrueType fonts, when both are included in a ZIP file. (You can still install both versions if you want by downloading the ZIP file yourself and installing each of the contained fonts manually.) Finally, if you're on a non-Windows platform, font-install will no longer install fonts that have "Windows Compatible" in their name, like many (most? all?) Nerd Font packages have.
