This is a preview release with pre-compiled executables, suitable for macOS and most recent Linux distributions. Simply download the appropriate file, extract the executable, and place it in your PATH.

As stated in the README, please remember that this needs to run within a sixel-capable terminal. Suitable options include:

Furthermore, on macOS, you may need to take the executable out of quarantine to allow the OS to run it. This can be done with a ctrl-click & open, or from the command-line:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine mrpeek
