Remove EXIF Date-Time Metadata

Overview

This script provides a straightforward way to batch remove specific EXIF date and time metadata from images within a directory. Designed to address an issue where iPhotos on MacOS sometimes fails to correctly batch change photo date and time, this tool offers a reliable solution.

Requirements

  • Python 3.x
  • Pillow library (can be installed via pip install Pillow)

Usage

  1. Clone this repository or download the script remove_exif_datetime.py.
  2. Ensure you have the required Python version and libraries installed.
  3. Run the script using python3 remove_exif_datetime.py.
  4. When prompted, enter the directory path containing the images you wish to process.

Features

  • Removes the following EXIF metadata from images:
    • Date-Time Original
    • Date-Time Digitized
    • Date-Time Metadata
  • Provides clear feedback during processing, including any errors or issues encountered.
