New test case placeholders & simple fixes

Description

This PR has several straightforward fixes:

• Fix string with extra $.
• Fix text descriptions for several tests.
• Remove comments for test placeholder but actually done.
• Add bar, compare & line test placeholder for new tests in design doc.

Type of change

• Note merging this changes the database configuration.
• This change requires a documentation update
