Here you can find instructions how to set up the survey bot.
Current issues: Please note that the calculation of the survey times refers to the time zone of the server running the bot script. If participants and server are in different time zones, this can cause problems. We are in the process of fixing this problem.
To use the survey bot, a computer with a constant internet connection is required. This computer must further run continously during the study, but it does not have to be particularly powerful.
The computer can be operated with Windows, MacOS or Linux. We recommend the use of a Linux distribution as operating system, like Ubuntu Server. For instructions how to install Ubuntu Server visit this tutorial. If you are a newbie to linux and command line navigation, feel free to read this tutorial.
There are four versions of our survey bot you can download, a precompiled version for Windows, MacOS and Linux as well as the source code version. Please note, Python and the dependencies must be installed additionally, if the source code version is used.
Before you start setting up the survey bot, please create a telegram bot account.
