Release Summary

The WorldWind Explorer v0.3.0 is an iterative milestone in the construction of a web application framework featuring the NASA Web WorldWind SDK. This release includes the addition of MIL-STD-2525C Tactical Symbols from Spatial Illusions, plus OpenStreetMap and Sentinal-2 imagery from EOX GimH. Also, Info panel is now populated with About, Location and selected Item panels.

Known issues

  • The MIL-STD-2525C Tactical Symbol editor does not accommodate text modifiers yet
  • Time Controls slider control functionality
  • Touch gestures not working on sliders

End User impact/User facing changes

  • The Info panel now manifests an About tab with acknowledgements, a Location tab with geospatial info about the current position, and a Item tab with details about the currently selected item on the globe.
  • All marker shapes (pushpins and tactical symbols) are managed in the Markers tab.

Impacts to other development teams/compatibility

  • Removed MapIcons and Weather Scouts. These features are implemented by the forked and deployed version:
    emxsys/explorer.worldwind.earth
  • Remove libraries not used by the core.
