Media Library / Dropzone Example Notes

  • This project aims to be as close to a default Laravel installation as possible, with only a Post model with CRUD functionality, and file attachment functionality added
  • database/migrations/2020_02_05_191445_create_media_table.php and config/medialibrary.php were generated following installation instructions at https://github.com/spatie/laravel-medialibrary and was not modified from the default
  • config/laravel-directory-cleanup.php was generated following installation instructions at https://github.com/spatie/laravel-directory-cleanup and modified as needed, adding the 'Delete unused uploads from Media Library' section
  • Scheduled tasks are defined in app/Console/Kernel.php . They cannot be run via supervisor and must use a cron job as below
    • \* \* \* \* \* cd /path/to/laravel/app && php artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1
  • The database will need to be set up and migrated before use
