The CAP meeting took place on Friday, 8th of May 2015.
Notes from the meeting:
Updates on Analysis Preservation Development:
- Several face to face meetings took place in parallel over the past month. These were organized with the data preservation managers of the individual collaborations. Most meetings were joined by the responsible persons for the individual tools which should be connected to the Analysis Preservation Service.
- First result: CMS data model is available as a draft.
- The resulting refined requirements are attached to this email [1] and are being integrated in the overall documentation and requirements that will be set up on github.
- Internal discussions within ATLAS indicate support for Analysis Preservation Service and RECAST (and their integration). Final report including recommendations to be made by the end of summer 2015.
- Please note that we changed the naming conventions (based on the discussions in the past meetings). It is now: (CERN) Analysis Preservation Service/Portal.
- T. set up the github organisations. Everyone is encouraged to set their contributor role from private to public to show their contribution to the development.
- S. changed the alias of this e-group: analysis-preservation-development@cern.ch
Use cases:
- draft use cases were circulated. Comments/Revisions are welcome: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1roDf_rY0pikuJqeN3_fc-vErG-Y5pwlProq4hm4EFI4/edit# Please feel free to use them for internal communication and documentation.
DASPOS workshop:
- happens from May 18th to May 19th
- remote participation is possible and particularly foreseen in the evenings and mornings (EDT times) to validate the outcomes
- CMS and ATLAS are present at the workshop. P. will have prepared draft data models for all four LHC collaborations by then. They will be discussed and refined during the workshop. All results will be validated with the curation managers in the collaborations.

Next steps:
- first hirings done and/or in process (M. is new to the team! Welcome!)
- K. got a new grant! (Congrats!), so more support to come :)
- Based on the gathered requirements, we now start building pipes and, then, the interfaces. For a start, CMS DAS integration will be tackled. There are requests to enable functionalities to automate batch-upload analysis. Further integrations depend on the API specifications of the tools (if APIs are available at all). See more details requirement specs for more details.
- First prototypes for testing (including selected data sources and data handling) should be available late summer.
Further comments:
- DPHEP workshop beginning of June including Open Data and Analysis Preservation session. https://indico.cern.ch/event/377026/)
- next meeting in a months time (June). Doodle to come. Potentially around the DPHEP workshop.
